FAQ: Do I need to hold down the button for the entire 2-minute session?

No you do not! You simply need to firmly press and then release the button to engage the device – you do NOT need to hold the button down the entire time! Your device will beep and shut off after the 2-minute session.

Has SinuSonic undergone any clinical trials, testing or research?

SinuSonic has two published studies and more ongoing studies.

The second study completed at the Medical University of South Carolina. Study outcomes were published online in the prestigious International Forum of Allergy and Rhinology (IFAR) — the official journal of the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) - in a paper titled, ‘Safety and Efficacy of a Novel Device Combining Acoustic Vibration with Oscillating Expiratory Pressure for the Treatment of Nasal Congestion’.

Topline outcomes:

Patients exhibited significant increases (15%) in PNIF within five minutes of using the device (p<0.001).
Following a two week, twice-daily regimen, PNIF scores increased over 30% versus initial baseline - a mean improvement of 25.0 L/min, and statistically and clinically significant (p<0.001).
The Total Nasal Symptom Scores improved by 3.7 points, with 80% of patients achieving a clinically relevant improvement (p<0.001).
Improvements were seen for all patient-reported outcome metrics at each interval, including reduced symptoms of nasal congestion, nasal drainage and sinonasal pressure.
No major adverse events detected, with 97.5% of subjects reporting zero pain or discomfort at study conclusion.
At study completion, 87.5% of subjects indicated they would recommend SinuSonic to a friend or family member.

Is the SinuSonic FDA approved?

The SinuSonic complies with all applicable FDA regulations.

Can I reuse my SinuSonic?

The SinuSonic is designed as a single-user product and can be reused for 6 months or 1080 minutes of use. It can then be disposed of in normal household waste.

How long and how frequently should I use my SinuSonic?

For best results use your SinuSonic for two minutes per session at least twice a day, every day or more often as needed. There is no negative associated with using SinuSonic as many times per day as required to address your condition. The key to success with SinuSonic is daily use. Our research shows that the longer you use SinuSonic the better your results will be.

How Long Will My SinuSonic Last?

The SinuSonic lasts for six months and then it needs to be replaced. Like toothbrushes, razor blades and other hygiene equipment, over time it must be replaced for sanitary reasons. Use your SinuSonic dailly to maximize the value and the results!

Does SinuSonic work for nasal drainage and post nasal drip?

Our studies have primarily focused on congestion symptoms, but studies have shown patients experience improvements in nasal drainage after using the SinuSonic.

Will SinuSonic help with allergy induced rhinitis and sinusitis?

We have not conducted studies on sinusitis, but SinuSonic does help relieve congestion due to rhinitis, including allergic rhinitis.

Is SinuSonic recyclable?

The SinuSonic may be recyclable in your area – follow your local recycling center's procedures for electronic device recycling. Or you can visit our recycling page for more information on how we can recycle your device for you.

Is the SinuSonic guaranteed to relieve my congestion?

Unfortunately no product is 100% effective for everyone. Our research indicates that there is a small percentage of people who have a condition that just won’t be resolved by SinuSonic. We recommend that those people see an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist or a Rhinologist for a more detailed review of their condition. More practically we find that the people who report not having success with SinuSonic are not using the device consistently for two minutes twice a day (or more as required) every day as the research indicates is most effective.

Is there a warranty for my SinuSonic?

The SinuSonic is warrantied for manufacturing defects – please read all instructions before using your device. If your device does not activate when the battery pull tab is removed or stops functioning before 6 months or 1080 minutes of use, please contact customer service: customerservice@sinusonic.com.

Where is SinuSonic made?

The SinuSonic is designed in the USA and assembled with parts molded in the USA in an FDA-registered facility in Columbia, South Carolina.

Is the SinuSonic patented or trademarked?

Yes! SinuSonic has been awarded five patents to date. US#D909,564, US#D893,703, US#11,213,641, US# 11,213,642, and US#11,305, 077 and has other patents pending. SinuSonic is trademarked, US Serial Number 88129216.

What is the SinuSonic made of? Is there latex in the SinuSonic?

There is no latex in the device. The mask is made of food-grade silicone and the body is ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). ABS is a plastic found in many household items.

Can I buy my SinuSonic with a health FSA or HSA?

Do I need a prescription for a SinuSonic?

You do not need to provide a prescription to purchase a SinuSonic.

I just bought my SinuSonic, can I stop doctor-recommended congestion treatments?

The SinuSonic is not a replacement for treatments under the supervision of a physician. See all warnings for health conditions that should be discussed with your physician before you use a SinuSonic.

What should I do if I feel light-headed when using the SinuSonic

Discontinue use – you are probably breathing too fast and/or too hard – after you normalize, stay seated, slow down, and take deep breathes in and out.

Can I use my SinuSonic while driving?

Do not use the SinuSonic while driving.

Is it ok to stop my SinuSonic to blow my nose?

Yes, many users need to blow their nose during a session – you may find you want to have tissues nearby.

Can I get a pink mask?

Are the masks scented?

The masks have a light, refreshing mint smell that fades quickly after opening the package.

Does SinuSonic help with nasal drip?

Yes! In our published research SinuSonic did improve nasal drainage. Use SinuSonic two minutes twice a day every day for best results. Just keep some tissues handy to remove any discharge from your nose.

Does SinuSonic help with sinus inflammation caused by allergies?

Yes! SinuSonic helps with inflammation caused by allergies through a combination of specific vibration at 128hz and positive expiratory pressure. SinuSonic also appears to help produce nitric oxide in the nasal cavity which can also help reduce the inflammation overall.
